The BMW K 1200 LT (for luxury tourers ) is a BMW touring motorcycle available from 1998 to 2009 , which was first offered for DM 34,400 and replaced the K 1100 LT model . As a motorcycle in the super tourer category, the K 1200 LT was positioned as a competitor to the Honda Gold Wing, among others.

The K 1200 LT was already richly equipped in the first version ex works in Berlin-Spandau . The standard equipment included, for example , cruise control , reversing assistance activated by the starter, on-board computer, radio/cassette combination and an electrically adjustable windshield. In contrast to the previous model, the non-removable case system with top case and two side cases has a storage space of around 120 liters (with standard equipment, the optional CD changer reduces the storage space in the right case by a few liters). However, the curb weight added up to over 385 kg, the possible payload is 213 kg.
