The engine is mounted behind the rearmost axle on the left side and is connected to a generator. The centre and rear wheels are driven by four 80 kW electric hub motors. The air-conditioning compressor, power-steering pump, and air com­pressor are individually driven by an electric motor instead of belt driven by the engine. Lithium ion batteries are located on the roof ahead of the joint, and the cooling for the bus' systems is roof-mounted at the rear.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDaimler Buses North America had planned to market an articulated bus based on the Citaro G under the Orion brand.
