Argentinas is the flag airline of the Argentine Republic , dedicated to the commercial transportation of passengers and cargo. It flies to more than 66 national and international destinations, in South America , the Caribbean , North America and Europe . Previously, Aerolíneas Argentinas made flights to Oceania , on a transpolar flight through Antarctica and to Africa , specifically South Africa.

It focuses its commercial operations on the airport of the City of Buenos Aires, Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and the Ministerio Pistarini International Airport , located in the Province of Buenos Aires . The company also manages Aerolíneas Cargo and Jet Paq , the ramp services company Aerohandling and the tourist services company Optar.

Aerolíneas Argentinas was privatized in 1990 and returned to state management in 2008. 9 Since 2009, the fleet was modernized, flight simulators were acquired and new international, national and regional flight routes were created. It has been a member of the SkyTeam alliance since 2012, being the first and only South American partner. ​ Aerolíneas Cargo is a member of SkyTeam Cargo .

Since 2008, the Argentine State has made transfers to keep it operational. In 2019, accumulated subsidies were about $6 billion.

In 2017 the company achieved a new record, transporting more than 14 million passengers from all over the world.
