The Magnette made good use of the BMC 1489cc, B-Series engine which gave this mid-sized family car good performance for its day. It had a graceful four door body style that looked almost Italian from some angles, it featured the traditional MG front grille which was raked to give it an aerodynamic shape to match the rest of the cars design. Vignale and based on the famous Fiat 8V. Michelotti demonstrated his creativity and inventiveness with this Démon Rouge (red devil) at the Turin motor show in 1955. The semi-circular, vertical rear window under the extended roofline is one of the most striking details. It was an aerodynamic trick intended to keep the rear window clean and dry during heavy rainfall. Something similar would later be applied to the Ford Anglia and the Citroën Ami. The roof of the Fiat 8V Demon Rouge itself is largely made of Plexiglas, to give the impression of an open car. The door handles are ingeniously incorporated into the rear pillars. The car doesn’t have any bumpers and the headlights are framed by the grille. In 1955 the design won the first prize in the ‘Coppa Campione d’Italia’ Concours d’Elegance. Nearly fifty years later, in 2004, the Fiat 8V Demon Rouge won the ‘Best of Show’ prize at the Concours d’Elegance at palace Het Loo in Apeldoorn, the most prestigious motorcar event in the Netherlands. The Fiat 8V – ‘Otto Vu’ in Italian – is the only eight-cylinder built by Fiat. The sports car was launched in 1952 in order to participate in the Mille Miglia. It was very expensive: in America it cost $ 6,000, almost twice as much as a Jaguar XK120. Exactly 114 8V’s were built, some with special Zagato, Ghia and Vignale coachwork.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0784/2391/6772/files/neo47140-rolls__18213.1506108558.1280.1280.jpg?v=1769537569
esval-1-43-1953-studebaker-manta-ray-top-up-light-pink
Esval 1:43 1953 Studebaker Manta Ray (Top Up), Light Pink

This is a imited edition resin cast model which comes mounted on a stand in an acrylic display case

Only 500 models produced world wide

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0784/2391/6772/files/Fullscreen_capture_5312024_32617_PM__45966.1717184050.1280.1280.jpg?v=1769537680
brumm-1-43-1960-fiat-600d-multipla-taxi-green
Brumm 1:43 1960 Fiat 600d Multipla Taxi, Green

Diecast model with plastic parts

The Fiat 600 (Italian: Seicento, pronounced [ˌsɛiˈtʃɛnto]) is a rear-engine, water-cooled city car, manufactured and marketed by Fiat from 1955 to 1969 — offered in two-door sedan and four-door mini-MPV body styles.

Measuring only 3.22 m (10 ft 7 in) long, it was the first rear-engined Fiat and cost the equivalent of about €6,700 or US$7300 in today's money (590,000 lire then). Shortly after, Ford of Britain first hired Lotus to create a high-performance version of their Cortina family car, then in 1968 launched the Escort Twin Cam, one of the most successful rally cars of its era.[61] Similarly, Abarth developed high performance versions of Fiats 124 roadster and 131 saloon.

Other manufacturers were not content with modifying their 'bread-and-butter' cars. Thus the Audi Quattro was born. International regulations had prohibited four-wheel drive; but FISA accepted that this was a genuine production car, and changed the rules. The Quattro quickly became the car to beat on snow, ice or gravel; and in 1983 took Hannu Mikkola to the World Rally Championship title. Other manufacturers had no production four-wheel drive car on which to base their response, so FISA was persuaded to change the rules, and open the Championship to cars in Group B. This allowed cars to be much further removed from production models, and so was created a generation of rallying supercars, of which the most radical and impressive were the Peugeot 205 T16, Renault 5 Turbo and the Lancia Delta S4, with flimsy fibreglass bodies roughly the shape of the standard car tacked onto lightweight spaceframe chassis, four-wheel drive, and power outputs reportedly as high as 600 hp (450 kW). Because of the launch late in the Mk I's life, there are relatively few PIs in the original shape.

In October 1969, the Mk 2 range was launched, again styled by Michelotti, updating the car for the 1970s. There were entry-level 2000 models, which were the most plentiful, but the remainder of the range consisted of 2500, 2500 TC and 2500 PI models. Apart from the PI (petrol injection) models, all Triumph 2000 and 2500s had twin Stromberg or SU carburettors, the "TC" suffix on some models can seem misleading in this respect as it stood for a higher equipment level. In June 1975 the 2500S model, with 14 inch (356 mm) wheels and anti-roll bar, was added: it replaced the 2.5PI which had quietly disappeared from the show rooms two months earlier.[12] This marked the end of fuel injected engines for the car, but improved acceleration was claimed for the twin carburettor 2500S and its slightly less expensive 2500TC sibling. These new versions featured an extensive list of other, mostly minor, improvements, of which the most significant were probably those affecting the ride and handling: these resulted from suspension changes including an anti-roll bar. However, the rapid development and production concentration on that sector made Renault to seek ways to enter into the market. In 1950, the Renault's technical chief, Fernand Picard, elaborated a plan to launch a limited range of trucks and buses with a single 105 CV engine, taking advantage of the economies of scale, which proved unsuccessful. In 1953, the strategy was changed and Renault decided to acquire rival manufacturers, starting with Somua and Latil. The company Saviem was formed in October 1955 by the merger of Renault's trucks and buses manufacturing operations with Somua and Latil and both Schneider (owner of Somua) and the Blum family (owner of Latil) had stakes in the new company. Initially, the Saviem name was added besides the existing badges of the three forming companies but, from 1957 onwards, Saviem-LRS appeared as marque's name on the company's products (the acronym representing the former marques Latil, Renault and Somua), which was simplified to Saviem in 1960. In 1959, Saviem became a whole-owned subsidiary of Renault. The early range of the company consisted of small commercial vehicles derived of Renault's existing models (Goélette and Galion), new medium and heavy trucks with Alfa Romeo engines and Chausson support for the coach/bus production.
