The 1995 Pierce Heavy Duty Rescue is built on a Lance chassis with a 450 horsepower Detroit engine. The truck is equipped with a fully operational command center with a cellular phone, fax machine, and both low band and UHF radios. The exterior compartments house Hurst extrication equipment, two Hurst hydraulic reels, one air reel, and four electric reels. The truck is also equipped with an Ingersol Rand Cascade system. This system consists of four 6000-PST air cylinders with a Sierra Booster Pump that is capable of filling over 40 4.5 30-minute breathing air bottles. A 35 KW Winco direct drive generator supplies enough power to feed the eight 750 watt flood lights, and all of the electric reels on the truck.
